Re: Boat Ramps??

I found the following about coosa landing from the city of gadsden's website.

"The Coosa Landing is host each year to many local fishing tournaments as well as state and national tournaments. In 2005 the Bait Shop was relocated to the East side of the river next to the Broad Street Bridge.  In the past years we co-sponsored/hosted such national tournaments as Crappie USA, the Bass Federation, B.A.S.S., the Women's Bass Fishing Association (WBFA) plus others. In 2005 we will co-sponsor/host the Crappie USA  Super Tournament, the Women's Bass Fishing Association's Tournament, the Angler Choice Super Tournaments plus several other local and state club tournaments. The tournaments are held on the Coosa River, well known for the quality and quantity of fish it produces."

I have always called this ramp the city boat ramp or the ramp "between the bridges".  Access to it now is from wallace drive.  turn beside the dollar general (in the parking lot) and keep going to you see water.  smile  If you need better directions let me know.

Re: Boat Ramps??

I mostly fish lake Tuscaloosa and alot of different places along the black warrior.....ummm....by the way I typed Wallace Drive in mapquest and I was wondering is it off 431???  Looks like its close to a town called Glencoe and you pass a golf course???  If you could maybe tell me if im even close it looks like its close to the water but I cant see where wallace goes all the way to the water.  Maybe a mapquest link from tuscaloosa to the ramp would be sweet but any thing will help!  Thanks!

Re: Boat Ramps??

I'm sorry about the confusion.  That part of the road is actually called Hood avenue.  I in the habit of calling it wallace drive.  It is right off of 431.  Find the following Dollar General and you will find the boat ramp.  You actually turn in to dollar general parking lot and drive right past the building to reach the ramp.  The other entrance is parallel to the railroad tracks.

Re: Boat Ramps??

If you still need directions the easiest way from Tuscaloosa would be I-59 to I-759. I-759 (cross river) to the 1st and only light then left (you will see a Lowes at this intersection) to E. Broad St. (Ronnie Watikins Ford) on one corner and Dollar General on the other. The boat ramps are behind Dollar General (go thru their parking lot).
